In Effort To Differentiate Himself From Petersburg Challenger, Incumbent Dan Sullivan Changes Name To 'Daenerys'

In a last-ditch effort to differentiate himself from the Petersburg challenger of the same name in the August primary, Senator Dan Sullivan has changed his name to Daenerys. “I didn’t want to do it, but my team didn’t think there was any other alternative,” said the sitting senator during an interview. “I don’t think a middle initial is enough for voters to tell us apart on the ballot, and the Alaska Supreme Court rejected adding the word ‘incumbent’ next to my name, so changing my name to Daenerys was really the only option.”

“People are familiar with the name from Game of Thrones, anyways, and we all know that she was a well loved and respected leader in the end, right?” continued the Senator. “I even have the silver hair to match.” At press time, the Petersburg Dan Sullivan claimed that he is the rightful heir to the iron throne.
